Mutant Stage

A collection of 10 dance films

for Lafayette Anticipations

Mutant Stage is a series of choreographic short films conceived and produced by Amélie Couillaud and Dimitri Chamblas for Lafayette Anticipations - Fondation d'entreprise Galeries Lafayette, in its building renovation programme by OMA/Rem Koolhaas.

Throughout all the works and until the public opening of Lafayette Anticipations in fall 2017, the building located 9 rue du Plâtre in Paris is the object of an investigation into its own mutation.

Each shooting is the occasion of a new encounter between dance and architecture, and between a film director and dancers.

Each film, shaped by the visual vocabulary of dance, cinema and architecture, is a singular object, but also one of the opus of the collection.

The title of the project is inspired by a Rem Koolhaas expression that encapsulates the essence of a performative architecture and the commitment of Lafayette Anticipations to the hybridisation of art and life.
